About me

Lucy Gray - A smiling woman with blonde hair tied back, wearing a pink textured sweater, standing outdoors with a blurred green landscape in the background.

Hi, I’m Lucy!

Integrative* NCPS-accredited Psychotherapist and Counsellor.

Specialist Mental Health Mentor and Wellbeing Practitioner at Sheffield Hallam University.

Death Café Facilitator and qualified Mountain Leader.

“ Lucy offers a calm gentle presence, alongside enthusiastic vitality. She comes alongside authentically and thoughtfully ”

*Integrative Counsellors combine several counselling approaches, instead of the in-depth use of one.

My background & experience

Mountain landscape with snow-capped peaks in the background, rolling grassy hills in the foreground, and a leafless tree on the right side of the image under a partly cloudy sky.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked as a mental health and wellbeing coach; empowering groups and individuals to make lifestyle changes and enabling peer support and community connections.

I have worked with people from all walks of life - young people (as a youth group leader), asylum seekers (as a British Red Cross Emergency Response Officer), and terminally ill people (as a domiciliary carer and Death Café facilitator).

I have worked for over 5 years with adults who identify as neurodivergent or with different ways of thinking - including in NHS diagnostic services - and am now trained as a DSA specialist mental health mentor.

I have worked as a counsellor for several specialist abuse counselling services, including Sheffield Mind’s Safe Space service and Rotherham Abuse Counselling Service.

I have delivered training for clients, volunteers and professionals in managing depression and anxiety; suicide awareness; safeguarding and mental health.

And I’m a qualified Run Leader (UK Athletics) and Mountain Leader (Mountain Training), in the process of training as an Outdoor Therapist.

A serene lakeside scene with calm water reflecting the sky, surrounded by trees on the left and hills on the right, with the sun shining brightly from the sky.

My experience & training equip me particularly in working with:

  • Neurodivergent adults (diagnosed or not)

  • Students and young adults

  • Life transitions and direction

  • Managing energy levels, work-life balance and burnout

  • Communication skills and relationships

  • Physical wellbeing

  • Self-awareness and esteem

  • Anxiety and low mood
